It's just so bizarre, and it brings a whiff of techno-magic to the game.

Also, any kind of flying ship, especially Barsoomian ones. Spelljammers, too. Man, the best parts of 2E were Spelljammer and Dark Sun. You know, until they managed to screw Dark Sun up by not knowing when to stop.

When I get back to gaming blogging, I should do a series of mini-descriptions of worlds for Spelljammer use. Like, a bunch of unique fantasy worlds with just enough description to get a DM going. Something similar to the old Judges' Guild "Portals" series, maybe, but less specific about locations and encounters. I need to figure out a better way to do maps for blogs first though.faoladhhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03691952430041394614noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1954394848487110923.post-84254719814340573312018-01-13T16:25:55.733-05:002018-01-13T16:25:55.733-05:00My favorite magic item is probably the simple Immo...My favorite magic item is probably the simple Immovable Rod. So easy to grok but it still conveys a sense of wonder AND inspires creativity in play!

My favorite magic item in my head that will one day make it to the table is a stringed instrument (a lute, maybe?) that you play when you're lost/searching for something, and the sound comes from the direction you need to go.Jonathan Linnemanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04711517194240426383noreply@blogger.com
