A Sneak Peek Inside The Manor

Ivy took these pictures on one of our many day trips.  We found this fantastic location and she took a bunch of pictures.  It will be the first featured location in my Rural Pennsylvania series.  I think its a great place to start.  I love the pictures, but they cannot convey how fricking creepy it was even in the middle of the day.  The Manor is coming along and the writing is wrapping up.  More coming soon.

  1. You know that's a place to find a couple of nasties....

  2. Creepy for sure. You can imagine it being a fine home once upon a time, but times do change.

  4. It was fun walking around the lot. Very creepy but very cool. The house now is gone. Glad we were there to get those pictures.

I even poked about the back yard and stuck my head in some of the open windows.

    All very Nancy Drew like.

    So fun.

Dan, this place was on the outskirts of Greenville.

  8. It looks just like the house my buddies and I lived in when we were in college.

  9. I'm sure the undead in those woods is a completely new, unheard of type of undead. The kind that is just waiting to be statted up and sicced upon an unsuspecting party.

  10. Reminds me of a place I used to explore as a kid (although we were not allowed inside the crumbling buildings--my parents were very strict about that). It had been a speakeasy and was built on the edge of a swamp. We always expected to find human remains from those wild and wooly days.

Ironically, a place less than a half mile from it was extensively excavating by law enforcement in the 70's (when I was a kid), looking for Jimmy Hoffa. I grew up about 20 miles from the restaurant where he had last been seen and the primary suspect had a farm less than a mile from our house.

  12. Very creepy looking, and perfect for a small adventure... are there squaters in the house, or ghouls? Or did the ghouls eat the squaters? Only the brave will ever know. ;)

  13. Very cool pics. Looking forward to the Manor! Is there info anywhere on how to subscribe, or is that still in the works? (I realize it's still early...)

  14. I dunno if you are into traveling around to explore locations like this, but as a fellow Pennsylvanian, I recommend you check out Centralia if you are ever in the area. Just check "Centralia, PA" on Wikipedia.

While it's not nearly as spooky looking, Centralia was the inspiration for the town in the "Silent Hill" movie.

  16. The kind of place you just have to spend the night in with a handful of pals, some sleeping bags, flash lights and 12-gauge shotguns.

It's those kind of places that make the hairs on the back of your neck prickle, and you get that eerie feeling that you're being watched from one of the windows.

  17. Real cool. Reminds me of this place, which actually has scary caves in it.

I got a headstart on Sleestak Sunday this time.

I guess you are lucky you were there the day the guillotine traps in the windows were not working.
