I just wanted to thank everyone for the support and shout outs and comments. At the end of the day I lept over the 100 mark and landed on 110. It may not break any records or seem like a large number, but I think its great. I never thought I would sell a 100.
I've been a big fan of the OSR. And tried to to support it as much as I can promoting and purchasing what others have to offer. My favorites tend to be the one man or two man products who really want to put a personal spin on gaming. A peek at what it might be like to play in their game. With Knowledge Illuminates I tried to give people a small dose of what it would be like to have me GMing a game. And when you hear about others using it in their game its a great feeling.
Those who purchased a copy yesterday let me know so I can get you the proper xp.
Again, thanks to everyone who purchased a copy in the past year. I hope to have a second offering soon.
Wow. That is quite a jump.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you about the personal touch in gaming products. Not only is it more interesting, I tend to find more use with quirky and unique gaming products. If I cannot borrow or steal directly, it can still trigger my own creativity in a way that items created by a professional time design do not.
Awesome!
ReplyDeleteWow, congrats on exceeding your goal Tim!
ReplyDeleteCongrats!!!
ReplyDeleteCongrats, Babe.
ReplyDeleteTim,
ReplyDeleteYou hit upon an interesting point that I have thought about in the past, in the opposite direction.
I know many "large" RPG publishers use the freelance model to put together many books quickly. I'm thinking of the D&D 3.5 "Complete X" books as an example, but it applies to other companies / games / etc.
These books are often written by different authors in charge of different chapters, and then pasted together at the end with some editorial wand of eternal paste.
What these books lack, IMHO, is the singular vision that is present when a single person puts the whole thing together on their own.
Does this make any sense?
Congratulations! I'm sure there's more to come.
ReplyDeleteHow does the commentator XP thing work? I notice I have 110 XP, which is pretty sick. I know I haven't posted that many comments though :)!
ReplyDelete110 is a great achievement!
ReplyDelete*SIGH* I've dropped to fifth. Oh well... Anyway, congrats on exceeding yrou goal. That's always a good thing.
ReplyDeleteNice one! Well done!
ReplyDeleteCONGRATS! Another milestone.
ReplyDeleteAlan Makes a lot of sense and they reason why I prefer the one man shows.
ReplyDeleteMichael Bolam The list of how to earn xp is below and pretty much any random thing I wish to enter. Like anyone who bought a copy of KI yesterday scored an extra 100xp.
*chants* I'm #1 I'm #1
ReplyDeleteI was glad to help and you really nailed it on the on why I bought your adventure. I wanted to see how you did things, the dungeon, the outdoor bit. I wish I had some characters to run through it right now but the ones in my campaign are about 1/2 through level 3.
Great! Congratulations on this!
ReplyDeleteI was going to say "Congrats, Babe" but I didn't want to cause Whisk to be concerned.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to you, and also to the commenters who bought a copy.
ReplyDeleteWow, I've dropped way back in the standings, haven't I? Gonna have to babble more here.
Congrats Tim, well deserved....
ReplyDelete@ faoladh - Me too.
ReplyDelete@ Tim - How can I let you know I did buy the copy? I don't need the extra XP, but you know if it is available... And the dice rolling hand's getting shaky without the fix.
I'm trying to decide if Tim gave me a bunch more XP to shut me up, or because he's OK with the fact that I actually missed the window of opportunity to buy KI on the 6th proper (I bought it the next day, and didn't mention the fact that I bought it at all, so I'm guessing that it's the "shut up, nerd" option). ;)
ReplyDeleteHe seems a very nice guy so I'd bet on it being the second, and we may well have evidence of his strange psychic abilities now too, especially as I also got the XP no questions asked. Anyway, it's still tight at the top - all to play for...
ReplyDeleteAh, I see that he's clarified it. It's a bonus for if you bought KI on or after the 6th.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I was just teasing about the "shut up, nerd" bit. Self-deprecating humor, you know.
