Map Time!

A map I was working on yesterday while I zoned out watching a movie.  It's a sinkhole mini crawl.  I imagine this being in a wasteland/desert setting and it is an oasis 100' below the surface.  There are small mesa like features (the green and brown thingies) two of which have caves, a cabin, stream and the black squares I haven't figured out.  A series of obelisks?  A graveyard?  Small black boxes?

If you figure it out let me know.  I'd love to know.

  1. Lovely map! The black squares grouped together like that make me think of some device of which they are all a part, which activates when some condition is met (moonlight hits them, they're all turned a certain way, etc.).

  3. The Black things? Obelisks made from obsidian. Strange glyphs cover each one, and on a full moon when it reaches its zenith the light shines upon the obelisks. The runes then glow a cold blue.

On these nights strange sounds can be heard if one puts his ear to the stones. Whether its languages, animal noises, or something stranger one can not really tell.

    ERIC!
